IsaDora – Turquoise Crush & Purple Crush

Monday, August 26th, 2013

I’ve survived my first week back at work and so far it feels pretty good, I think I’ve been able to really unwind this Summer so I actually felt ready to get back to business for once. Now I just need to get back to blogging more regularly, that’s the one thing I can’t seem to get a grip on…

So, Monday means Blue Monday, which you can find at Nail Me from now on. This is the manicure that I wore at work last week, it’s two beautiful textured polishes from IsaDora: Turquoise Crush which I’ve used as the main color, and Purple Crush for my accent nail. Both of these polishes have beautiful silver glitter in them. Turquoise Crush needed three coats to be fully opaque, and Purple Crush only needed two coats.

The first two photos are taken in the sun. I can’t say that they make the polishes justice, they had a really beautiful sparkle that I couldn’t quite capture:

The next ones are taken in the shade:

I really love these, I might have to get more of the IsaDora Crush polishes =)

Tiger – no. 47 & no. 48

Wednesday, March 27th, 2013

For once I have something green on a Wednesday, which means I can contribute to Green Wednesday at Vacker & Underbar!

I found these two polishes at a TGR store, I think they cost 20 SEK each. I just loved the colors so I figured I’d try them out for that price. The formula is quite thin on these and that’s a good thing in my world, the worst thing I know are thick and goopy creme polishes. But even if the formula was OK I did do a lousy job on this manicure with uneven edges and some cat hairs stuck here and there, I hope you can bear with that. I applied three thin coats of each and topped it with Poshé top coat.

47 is the turquoise shade, and 48 is the the light green.

I really love this color combination, it’s fun and makes me think of Spring. I really needed that with the cold and depressing weather that’s been lately, even though the sun has been out more now.

And what do I do if I’m not happy with the photos? Post a kitty pic! Lakrits is really enjoying the sun and is moving with it during the day:

Aah, warm sun on my tummy!

And yes, that package has been lying on our living room floor for the past months, things don’t happen fast in our home..

China Glaze – Lorelei’s Tiara

Saturday, February 9th, 2013

How about a New Year’s Eve manicure over a month later? I wore the gorgeous Lorelei’s Tiara which I just got a few months back. It’s from China Glaze’s Eye Candy collection and so far this is the only one I have from that collection. It’s a silver glitter with bigger glitter in a gorgeous blue/turquoise color.

This is two coats on top of Nails Inc Cambridge Terrace, which is a silver shimmer. I then needed two coats of Seche Vite to make it smoother.

I wore this for almost two weeks, it was hard to let it go!

Cactus’ Nail Polish – Polonium

Friday, September 14th, 2012

Is it already Holo Friday again? Time really flies! I managed to snap a few photos of this beauty while there was still some sun last week. Polonium is a beautiful light turquoise shade, and is one of the four polishes that Cactus made for the Spectrum β collection. The holo effect is quite beautiful, and it shows up even in low lights indoors. I ended up with three coats of this. It was pretty easy to work with, though there was a little tendency to bald spots like with other holographic polishes. It dries a little matte which is also to be expected, so I added a coat of Seche Vite, mostly to increase wear time. I’ve worn this for five days now and it’s still going strong!

I had just filed my nails, that’s why it looks like tip wear on my index nail.

So what can I say? Thumbs up for this polish!
