NailArt Sunday – Circuit Board

Sunday, September 1st, 2013

Being a geek I just couldn’t miss out on Lela’s NailArt Sunday today, since the theme for this week is circuit boards. I wanted to do something a little different than the standard green circuit board, so I went for a blue version. The base is two coats of China Glaze Man Hunt, and the lines where made with L. A. Girl Funkadelic. The dots where made with China Glaze Millennium and Wet n Wild Black Creme. And let me tell you one thing, it’s not easy making straight lines with a dotting tool! I think I need some better equipment for nail art.. Anyway, this is what the manicure ended up looking like:

My fiancé was almost disappointed that I didn’t do my other hand as well so I could wear it to work tomorrow =) But I’ll think I’ll do a full version someday when I have time to do a better job with it.

Nailart Sunday – A distasteful manicure

Sunday, May 12th, 2013

LeLack has been having a theme this week on her blog called “Gräsliga veckan” – which you could translate to terrible/horrid/ugly week. I managed to dig up this awful thing I did a few months ago. I was doing nail art with the theme food, and thought it would be a good idea to do a hot dog manicure.

I think the photo speaks for itself:

Can it get any uglier? The base is China Glaze Street Chic, and then I’ve made the mustard and ketchup stripes with Miyo Sunny and Eyeko Saucy Polish. Let’s just say that this manicure didn’t stay on for long.. =)

My Birthday Manicure

Sunday, May 5th, 2013

How about some nail art this beautiful Sunday? I rarely have something to contribute to Lela’s NailArt Sundays, but today I had something in my stash. This manicure was something I did for my birthday party back in April. I have now turned 30, does that mean I’m a grown up now? Hell no!  =)

The base is three coats of China Glaze Dance Baby, and then I made irregular spots with the dark pink Traffic Jam using a dotting tool. I then followed up with Black Creme from Wet n Wild along the edges of Traffic Jam. On top of that I applied Poshé topcoat. I’m quite pleased with this manicure, even if it was made in a hurry. On the index finger nail you can see that it got a little stringy, it was probably because the polish had dried a little too much when I applied it with the dotting tool.

The manicure is a little worn here as I took the photos after a couple of days.

I did have some inspiration for this manicure:

What is it? It’s one of the coolest pair of shoes I own, Pink Friday from Iron Fist:

Pink and leopard print, can it get any better? I love these shoes! Though my feet didn’t love them after a few hours…
