Some Swatches Of Isadora Light Touch Natural Radiant Make-Up SPF 15

September 22nd, 2011

I’ve seen a lot of posts about this new foundation from Isadora, and when I went past them at the super market I decided to make some quick swatches of three of the shades. I also had my Flawless Finish Foundation from ELF in my purse, which I find is a fairly good match for me when applied lightly, so I put that on as well for comparison. The photos are taken after I came home, unfortunately the sun was pretty much gone so you’ll have to do with poor indoor lighting.

The top mess is ELF Flawless Finish Foundation in Sand, which looks quite a bit lighter than the Isadora shades. And then we have the Light Touch Foundation swatches:
Bottom row L-R: 50 Nude, 51 Beige, 52 Sand.

I tried to swatch them on my face as well:

Unblended, L-R: ELF Sand, Isadora 50 Nude, 51 Beige, 52 Sand.

Blended slightly, L-R: ELF Sand, Isadora 50 Nude, 51 Beige, 52 Sand.

The ELF swatch looks quite yellow on me but I think it helps to even out the pink overtones in my face. My face really doesn’t match my body…

I’ve actually only used one liquid foundation in the past, and that was Lorea’l True Match in C1 Rose Ivory. After a while I realized though that it was too pink for me, so I think I should go for more yellow tones.

I may pick up this foundation in either Nude or Beige, I haven’t really decided which one looks the best yet. I’m hoping they’ll melt in and not look quite as dark as they appear to be. Have anyone of you tested this foundation yet?

China Glaze Skyscraper

September 19th, 2011

Skyscraper is a dark blue jelly loaded with silver glitter, and while I wore it I could hardly keep my eyes away from my nails! What you see here is three coats (if you have short nails you can probably do just fine with two) plus a layer of China Glaze Fast Forward. I didn’t find it very gritty at all, and it got quite smooth with top coat.

Unfortunately the sun had troubles breaking through the clouds, I guess it would have looked better in full sunlight.

The next photo is taken inside with flash, the base looks a little darker there, and that’s more what it looks like inside.

And a close-up under the kitchen lamp:

Yummy!

My Latest Haul

September 17th, 2011

I just wanted to show you what I ordered from Nailsupplies.us, as you can see it was before the OPI’s disappeared from the site.

First we have five China Glaze polishes from the Metro Fall collection.

L-R: Trendsetter, Traffic Jam, Street Chic, Concrete Catwalk, Skyscraper.

And the rest of the polishes, which I’ve had on my buying-list for a while:

L-R, China Glaze Senorita Bonita from the Island Escape collection, OPI Serena Williams Glam Slam! England collection with Grape… Set… Match and Servin’ Up Sparkle, and OPI Last Friday Night from the Katy Perry collection.

I’m curious to try out the Metro polishes, I’m not a creme-fanatic but I ended up with three cremes anyway.

Is there anything in particular you want to see?

KleanColor Metallic Black And Some Layering With Nfu Oh 48

September 10th, 2011

Mmmm.. black… *said in Homer Simpson style while drooling*. KleanColor Metallic Black looks nearly black with its silver shimmer, and dries a little matte. I really love this finish, and as with the rest of the polishes in this collection one coat was enough (except for the ring finger, I was clumsy and dented it).

It looks like there’s tip wear, but I had just filed my nails and it kind of looked weird because of that.

The shimmer looks quite lovely in the sun.

While I was taking photos inside, my cat Lakrits wanted to join in, so here you have a fur background =)

I thought this polish was perfect to layer something on, so I chose my Nfu Oh 48 to put on top of it. That one has a sheer pink base, with silver shimmer and flakies that change color between yellow, orange, green and some kind of salmon pink. Let’s see what that looks like:

I really like this combination!

Here you see some of the color shifts in the flakies.

Ooops, haven’t done my cleanup I see..

KleanColor Metallic Aqua

September 3rd, 2011

I’m continuing trying out KleanColor polishes, now it’s time for Metallic Aqua. After the staining from Metallic Pink I thought it would be best to use a base coat, so I put on Seche Ridge Filling Base Coat, and then one coat of Metallic Aqua. I don’t remember having any troubles with the drying time here.

And what do I have to say about this one? I love the color! I wouldn’t really call it aqua though, it’s more blue than that.

In natural light.

With flash to show the shimmer.

A Colorful Eye Look With UD 15th Anniversary Palette

September 2nd, 2011

My, that was an imaginative headline.. I didn’t know what to call this post really. I was playing around with my latest love last weekend and ended up using six of the shadows in the 15th Anniversary Eyeshadow Collection. I don’t think I’ve ever used that many at once!

Eyes
Urban Decay – Primer Potion all over lid and blended up to the browbone
Urban Decay – Flow on inner half of eyelid, and under the inner part lower lashline
Urban Decay – Junkshow on outer half of lid, blended into Flow
Urban Decay – Deep End in crease
Urban Decay – Omen in lower part of the crease and outer v
Urban Decay – Half Truth in outer v
Urban Decay – Vanilla in inner corners and on browbone
Urban Decay – 24/7 pencil eyeliner along outer half of lower lashline, with Omen on top
Isadora – Inliner Kajal in Blond on lower waterline
Smashbox – Hyperlash Mascara
ELF – Cream eyeliner in Black (I think it is, my memory is bad..)
Viva La Diva – Mix & Match Eyebrow Color

I see that I should have taken the eyeliner a bit further in, but other than that I’m pretty happy with this look.

It’s not really a look I would wear at work, but I could definitely sport this at a party!

Just some redesigning..

September 1st, 2011

I wanted to make the layout a bit wider, so I’m just tinkering a bit with the design if you wonder what’s happening. I thought I would make the header show what I’m actually blogging about here, and the sidebar looks a bit different now. Let me know what you think!

Some Konad Practice

August 30th, 2011

While I was wearing KleanColor Mango I wanted to practise some more on my non-existent Konad skillz, so my right hand ended up with some black stars:

They’re far from perfect, but with time I may be confident enough to do a real manicure with stamping. I used Konad’s special polish in black, and stamped with the M3 plate.

I was also curious about how it would work to stamp with a normal polish, so I chose China Glaze Harmony for my left hand. Being a kitty lover I tried out the leopard pattern on plate M57. As it didn’t cover my longest nails I improvised some french tips with with a sponge.

Please excuse the mess around my nails, the light was slipping away so I had to hurry up to take some photos.

I’m not really sure if it’s absolutely awful or a little cool. But it was fun to do!

Eye Look – Omen and Flow

August 28th, 2011

Here’s a quick eye look I made with the Urban Decay 15th Anniversary palette. Something tells me I’ll be using Flow and Omen a lot when I want a little pop of color on an ordinary day.

Eyes
Urban Decay – Primer Potion all over lid and blended up to the browbone
Urban Decay – Flow on inner half of eyelid
Urban Decay – Omen on outer third of eyelid and in crease
Urban Decay – Vanilla in inner corners and on browbone
Urban Decay – Half Truth as eyeliner along upper lashline
Isadora – Inliner Kajal in Blond on lower waterline
Lumene – Blueberry Curl Waterproof Mascara on upper lashes
Isadora – Clear Conditioning Mascara on lower lashes

KleanColor Mango

August 25th, 2011

The next KleanColor polish I tried was the orange creme Mango. This is such a bright and fun color! I don’t know if it was due to my incompetence, but I ended up with four coats as it got a bit streaky. Other than that I had no problems with the formula. I put on Fast Forward top coat but I did get some tiny sheet marks the next morning (I did my nails in the evening), but a second layer of top coat fixed that.

I took all the photos in sunlight:

Yes, my fingers take on a slightly sick shade with this polish on.. But who cares? Not me =)
