Gina Tricot – Petrol

Saturday, January 26th, 2013

Petrol is the first creme polish that I’ve tried from Gina Tricot, and it was a pleasant encounter. The formula was easy to work with and I  ended up with two coats. I am really weak for petrol colored things, be it nail polish, makeup or clothes, so I couldn’t resist this one.

Here I’ve also tried Poshé top coat for the first time. I’ve been using Seche Vite for a couple of years now, but I can’t really get over how thick it gets after a while, so I figured it was time to try something new. My first impression is that I like the brush from Poshé much better, and it’s much easier to apply. But I don’t feel that it dries as quickly as Seche Vite, but I don’t know if that was just with this polish. I will continue my trial to see what I think of it.

It was a cloudy winter’s day so there’s no sun in these photos, just a gloomy gray sky.

The edges look a little weird, I’d probably been there with a nail file again, it took a while for me to get the shape right after shortening my nails.

There was one downside to this polish, it did stain my nails a little. But since I don’t use a base coat I guess I can only blame myself.. =)

Gina Tricot – Viva Glam

Thursday, July 12th, 2012

This is my first polish from Gina Tricot, after seeing this one a few blogs I had to try it out myself. I ended up with four coats as I thought it was sheer when I applied it in dim lights, but after seeing it in daylight I’m sure three would have been enough. Anyway, Viva Glam is a cool golden shade that shifts to a more silvery shade in some angles. It’s quite unique in my stash and I really like it! It’s packed with what I think is called micro-glitter, which was a bit of a pain to remove, but it was worth it =)

In this flash photo you can see that some of the glitter particles have a warmer tone, I thought I saw some copper tones and even some green in there.
