Green Christmas look

Saturday, December 18th, 2010

I was at a Christmas party with my coworkers a couple of weeks ago, and went for a light green look. I’m not 100 % sure of what I used, but I think the list is pretty accurate.

Eyes
Urban Decay – Primer Potion
Nyx – Jumo Eye pencil in Milk on inner half of lid
Coastal Scents – Mineral eyeshadow Hi Light Green on top of Milk
Aromaleigh – Mandarin on the rest of the lid and in crease
MAD Minerals – Ever After on outer v and in the crease, and along lower lashline
MAC – Phloof! on brow bone (not entirely sure about this one)
Nyx – Jumbo eye pencil in Cottage Cheese in inner corners of the eyes
Isadora – Inliner kajal Blonde on water line
ELF – gel liner in True Black on upper lash line
Lancome – Hypnose Precious Cells Mascara on upper lashes
Claudia – Wonderlash Mascara on lower lashes

Photos are taken inside with flash.

Bonus photo that my dear fiance took of me. This was after the party, so be nice! =) I’m wearing the UD lipstick Hotpants here, and the nails are the same as in my last post, Mistletoe Kisses on top of Sew Psyched.

Sew Psyched Gets Mistletoe Kisses

Time for some more crappy nail pics! I’m not really a fan of the Essie bottles, I think they look utterly boring, and there are not a lot of colors that catch my attention. But Sew Psyched spiked my interest, so now I’m not an Essie virgin anymore =)

So what do I think of this polish? I had a little trouble getting it even, but that’s probably more my fault than the polish, it had a pretty nice formula. I also knew that some people have had problems with it drying slowly, so I topped it with Seche Vite after three coats, and lay low for a couple of hours before I went to bed. I didn’t find any marks the day efter.

All photos are taken inside with flash. I apologize for the creepy fingers, they’ve been quite dry lately.

Essie Sew Psyched

The shimmer in this is barely noticable, so it looks more like a creme polish at a glance.

So I was sporting this for a few days, and was going to put on China Glaze Frosty for a Christmas party at work. Unfortunately time ran out (as it always does for me, I have nooo idea why..) so I grabbed Mistletoe Kisses and layered it on top of Sew Psyched. I think it worked pretty well!

I forgot to photograph the bottle!

It looks a little uneven but it wasn’t anything you noticed in real life, it just glittered beautifully!

Viva La Diva look

Monday, December 6th, 2010

I bought a couple of Viva La Diva eyeshadows a few days ago and wanted to try them out, so here’s a blue green look that I put together just for fun.

List of what I’ve used:

Urban Decay – Primer Potion
Nyx – Jumbo eye pencil Milk all over lid
Nyx – Jumbo eye pencil Cottage Cheese in inner corners
Viva La Diva – Domed eyeshadow Light Turqoise all over lid, inner half of the lower lash line
Viva La Diva – Domed eyeshadow Aqua in in crease, outer v, along outer half of lower lash line
Brite Bird – Pressed eyeshadow Micromiss applied lightly in outer v
Everyday Minerals – Floating Feathers on browbone, inner corners, and applied over Light Turqoise on inner half of the lid
Urban Decay – 24/7 Glide-on eye pencil Electric on upper lash line
Lancome – Hypnose Precious Cells Mascara on upper lashes
Claudia – Wonderlash Mascara on lower lashes
Isadora – Inliner kajal in Blonde on lower water line

China Glaze Bogie

Wednesday, December 1st, 2010

I haven’t posted much of my polishes from the Vintage Vixen collection, and that’s because all the photos came out a disaster! I really need to find better ways to photograph without natural daylight. But I really wanted to show Bogie so I’ve tried to get a few photos that may hint at what a beautiful polish this is. It’s actually a shade that I normally wouldn’t go for, as I prefer bolder colors, but it’s really beautiful! It’s a dark plum shade with a nice shimmer to it. It applied well as the rest of the collection, and I went for two layers (three on some nails).

This photo is actually taken a week later, with an extra layer added. I wanted to get one photo with some daylight.
